Rubato: Italian musical term. Literally steal or steal. In music: to be played rhythmically with all the freedom and the share of free will available to an interpreter. In Piano Rubato, the duo formed by aerial artist Mélissa Von Vépy and jazz composer Stéphan Oliva imagine an aerobatic concert in which the creative genius of the first responds to the virtuosity of the second.
On stage, a grand piano installed in the hull of a ghost ship serves as the rigging for the performer who sways to the changing rhythms of the piano, playing rubato. The moving piano, a scenic and musical object, with an inordinately elongated lid, like the sail of a ship five meters high, floats on solid ground. It is a sound vessel that pitches on an endless journey. It's like living a crossing in the open sea, sometimes calm, sometimes stormy, on the surface or in the depths, approaching islets with singular hues. While the musical notes sway under the Captain's hands, by resonance or counterpoint, Mélissa Von Vépy embodies the wind woman, through her breath and her muscles, physically and without affect. And by the grace of the performers, so sails the ship...

La Voix du Nord
A metaphorically rich proposal, open enough for each member of the public to project multiple meanings or affects on it, which ends on the most beautiful of images by reminding us that the essential thing is not to be exactly identical to each other. e to others, but to look together in the same direction...
Toute La Culture - Mathieu Dochtermann
An aerial performance coupled with a musical and visual dive, this is the bet won by the duo Mélissa Von Vépy and Stéphan Oliva who offer, in this aerobatic concert, an unforgettable moment of poetic grace.
